Swinging for a Cause: Supporting Foster Youth Beyond the Fairway
Each year, approximately 23,000 foster youth age out of care in the United States, stepping into adulthood without the safety net that many of us take for granted.

Every swing of the club, every walk down the fairway—it’s easy to forget how fortunate many of us are. At our golf club, we value more than just the game. We believe in building community, supporting one another, and lifting up those who need a hand. That’s why we’re proud to spotlight an important cause: supporting youth aging out of the foster care system.
Each year, approximately 23,000 foster youth age out of care in the United States, stepping into adulthood without the safety net that many of us take for granted. For them, turning 18 often means facing a world of uncertainty:
-
20% become homeless the day they age out.
-
By age 24, only half have stable employment.
-
Fewer than 3% earn a college degree.
-
25% suffer from PTSD, a rate higher than that of war veterans.
These young people carry heavy burdens—yet they carry them with incredible strength. Despite the odds, 70% of foster youth say they want to go to college, to build a better life and break the cycle. Their resilience is humbling, and their dreams are worth fighting for.
As a club rooted in tradition and camaraderie, we have the power to make a difference. Whether it’s through fundraising events, mentorship opportunities, or simply spreading awareness, we can help create pathways for these young adults to thrive.
In the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing more about how our club plans to support foster youth in our community—and how you can get involved. Because just like in golf, it’s not just about the swing—it’s about the follow-through.
Together, let’s swing for something greater.
